GNEWS : EA reveals Dante's Inferno

December 18th, 2008 Jithin Rao No comments

From the creators of Dead Space – EA Redwood, another horror gore game, with HELL and Christanity!!! This is gonna be another blockbuster. I am playing Dead Space, and i frankly feel that the acclaim by the critics for this is game, the developers deserve it! It’s such an awesome game! Well, my view on the game will be put up here later when i finish it.

Coming Back to Dante’s Inferno, check the new at Gamespot :

EA stokes Dante’s Inferno

Based on The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri, Dante’s Inferno is a third-person action adventure in which players traverse the nine circles of hell: limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, wrath, heresy, violence, fraud, and treachery. The game is under development at EA Redwood Shores, the same studio responsible for October’s critically praised survival horror game Dead Space. EA did not specify a release date for the game, but according to a Variety report that revealed the game’s existence last month, it is set for a 2009 launch.

This is not the first time Dante’s body of work has been used as fodder for a video game. Beyond Games swapped the epic poem’s title for its 1986 Commodore 64 effort, Dante’s Inferno, and Irrational Games’ canceled Xbox, PlayStation 2, and PC game The Lost also mined Alighieri’s work for inspiration. ”

Check the Teaser video at Gamespot, Blood and Gore lovers here comes another blockbuster, hopefully [:)].

AG : Flower for PS3

December 14th, 2008 Jithin Rao No comments

This is a game by chance i came across, well as the name refers to, the game is on flowers itself. Not only the game’s name is different, so as the game too.

Here’s the link to the game profile in gamespot – Flower

Flower_ps3

Basic Concept :

The basic concept seems a bit different, as the game revolves around the petals and the pollen grains in a flower been blown by the wind and the wind keeps moving in between as many as flowers to gain more pollen grains and petals that can help in building a more beautiful, natural and eco-friendly environment. Ah, one game that the environmental authorities can be happy about and promote on.

Gameplay :

  • Controls seems to be simialar to any flight simulator game with lesser key presses, just the joy sticks.
  • the mechanism of collecting the flower petals seems like the gameplay of quidich cup in the Harry Potter Games.
  • looks a bit relaxing kinda game on the controls, as the controls looks smooth.

Graphics:

  • the best half of the game, visually mindblowing environments, nature’s beauty exposed in a pretty eye soothening style.
  • the petals seems not that detailed enough as petals constitute the mostly in front of the camera entity.
  • The movement of grass with respect to the wind is done pretty good.

Should be a relaxing game as far as the looks and controls are concerned. Lets hope that the game entertains the audience, from the differently named company too – thatgamecompany.

GR : Call of Duty 4 : Mordern Warfare

December 14th, 2008 Jithin Rao No comments

Just finished playing one among the much awaited games of the year. And I am like WOW! that was a classic game, I LOVED IT! The weapons were much deadlier, much more challenging missions, visually almost a perfect warfare and really a warfield experience with quick gameplay. I didn’t feel the game’s pace slowin at any point, rather the narration was quite impressive and perfectly executed.

Gameplay :

  • Ability to throw a grenade thrown to you
  • More variaties of guns like AC-130 Gunship, etc, enhancements that you recieve on the multiplayer modes really awarding ones for the experience points and ranking
  • Missions swapped between British S.A.S. and the U.S. Marines gave a good idea of the war approach and weaponaries of the armies.
  • Your buddies are meant to be alive, thats something i liked a lot, a couple of missions keep to in tact that co-operative missions is unity and team work focusses on. Well thats a well taught moral ;) !
  • AI was pretty decent, the veteran mode actually boiled my blood to some time ;) .
  • I hate the dogs, they are some pain in the ass, they are really quick to rip ur throat off.

Graphics :

  • Particle effects looked neat.
  • Environements were much war feeling impressive
  • Although the theme was war, the Art Directors have kept a check of different time zones to give in a different shades of the war, pretty good.

No twists and turns in the story, the story is pretty old and straight with both the militant groups trackin the terrorist groups down inch by inch and finishing off in style – military style :) .

COD4 is a kickass on the multiplayer too, its awesome fun. The boys at office wants more of COD4 even hours after office hours :D .

GOOD GAME – Infinity, one more feather on ur cap.

It’s time that i catch with a couple of other games too.. :) .
